Environmental Accounting

Lintec uses environmental accounting to ascertain the costs and benefits of environmental protection, and continues to carry out environmental protection activities as effectively as possible. Environmental investments★1 made in fiscal 2021 totaled 766 million yen, while environmental costs★2 incurred for the same year totaled 4,205 million yen.
In fiscal 2021, large paper machine-related equipment was introduced for CO2 reduction. Total costs increased by 426 million yen from fiscal 2020 due to an increase in the number of projects and researchers for the development of environmentally friendly products.

Calculation Basis

  1. The scope of data collection covers Lintec Corporation and Tokyo Lintec Kako. Other affiliates are not included.
  2. The data is for the period from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.
  3. The Environmental Accounting Guidelines (2005) from the Japanese Ministry of the Environment were used as a reference.

Fiscal 2021 environmental conservation costs

Lintec uses environmental accounting to ascertain the costs and benefits of environmental protection, and continues to carry out environmental protection activities as effectively as possible. Environmental investments★1 made in fiscal 2021 totaled 766 million yen, while environmental costs★2 incurred for the same year totaled 4,207 million yen. Total environmental investments, mainly used to introduce equipment related to papermaking, among others, increased by 87 million yen from the previous year. Total environmental costs increased by 428 million yen year on year. Environmental conservation costs related to R&D activities increased by 274 million yen, reflecting an increase in the number of projects to develop environmentally friendly products and an increase in the number of personnel engaged in these projects.
