Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
The LINTEC Group is committed to carrying out various environmental activities to acquire opportunities from and adapt to climate change, which poses a major risk to the continuation of its business activities.
Initiatives for Reducing CO2 Emissions
Through initiatives such as facility upgrades and the installation of solar power generation systems for in-house consumption, the LINTEC Group is striving to reduce CO₂ emissions with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Total Energy Use and CO2 Emissions
As a way to contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions, we are promoting the effective use of waste heat, introducing high-efficiency equipment, installing solar power generation systems, and contracting electricity with low carbon emission factors.
Initiatives
We have created a roadmap to reduce CO2 emissions, and this is being implemented systematically.
LINTEC Achieves SBT (Science Based Targets) Certification
LINTEC has been certified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi),*1 an international body that certifies corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets as "Science Based Targets (SBTs)."*2
- *1Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi): An initiative established by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), World Resources Institute (WRI), and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) to evaluate corporate GHG reduction targets.
- *2Science Based Targets (SBTs): GHG reduction targets set by companies in line with the levels required under the Paris Agreement.
Response to TCFD Recommendations
With a view to further increasing its corporate value through better engagement with its stakeholders, the LINTEC Group is committed to proactive disclosure of information in line with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
[Governance]
Regarding initiatives in response to climate change-related issues, the Sustainability Committee (meeting four times a year, in principle) conducts discussions and supervises progress, and the outcomes of discussions are reported to the Board of Directors.
[Strategy]
Regarding initiatives in response to climate change-related issues, the Sustainability Committee (meeting four times a year, in principle) conducts discussions and supervises progress, and the outcomes of discussions are reported to the Board of Directors.
[Risk Management]
Information related to climate-related risks is gathered and identified/assessed by the Environmental Committee, and the results are reported to the Sustainability Committee. The Sustainability Committee considers whether any response measures need to be implemented, after which the departments responsible implement the necessary measures.
The Environmental Committee periodically checks whether initial indicators/goals have been achieved.
[Metrics and Targets]
The LINTEC Group recognizes that reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is crucial in addressing climate change and has set numerical targets, promoting various measures.
