LINTEC Files Patent Infringement Lawsuits Against Wuhan Choice Technology Co., Ltd. of China and Two Taiwanese Distributors Selling Backside Coating Tape Products
On September 17, 2026, LINTEC filed patent infringement lawsuits against each of Wuhan Choice Technology Co., Ltd. ("Choice Technology"), a China-based manufacturer of backside coating tape, as well as two Taiwanese distributors selling its products—The Leader Applied Materials Co., Ltd. and Baseband Technology Co., Ltd.—seeking an injunction against the manufacture and sale, and distribution of the accused products ("Lawsuits") with the Intellectual Property and Commercial Court in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
LINTEC has determined that the backside coating tapes manufactured by Choice Technology infringe Taiwan Patent Nos. I516530, I634187, I833953, and I542659 ("Patents") held by LINTEC in relation to the backside coating tape and has therefore filed the Lawsuits.
The Patents relate to key technologies used in Wafer Level Chip Scale Packages (WLCSPs). As of June 2026, LINTEC holds more than 600 patents related to backside coating tape across eight countries and regions, including Taiwan, China, South Korea, the Philippines, and Singapore.
The allegedly infringing products of Choice Technology in the Lawsuits are as follows:

While closely monitoring the progress of the Lawsuits, LINTEC will also consider further exercise of rights, such as filing lawsuits for infringement of other patents, as necessary.
