Fluorine-Free Oil-Resistant Paper Responding to Growing Environmental Awareness

Recently, the growing demand for food take-out due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the movement to eliminate the use of plastic have increased the need for oil-resistant paper as a packaging material for various types of food. Oil-resistant paper is usually made with fluorine resin, but with increasing environmental awareness, demand for fluorine-free oil-resistant paper has grown, especially among fast food restaurants and convenience stores.

Utilizing its proprietary papermaking technology, LINTEC has been rolling out a wide array of specialty paper products and has developed a new special-function paper that is oil-resistant and fluorine-free. Order sales of the paper will commence on October 2.

Resistant to oil seepage, the new product retains the air permeability of paper, allowing water vapor to escape even after wrapping the food, thereby keeping fresh food tasty for a longer period of time. The paper also possesses excellent printability and processability and can be used for a variety of food wrapping materials as well as cups, lining paper, and other applications.

While listening to its customers, LINTEC will continue to expand its lineup of high value-added specialty paper products to meet a wide range of needs.
